About Us

Whitesville, New York is located in the picturesque, rural southern tier of New York State on Route 248, fifteen miles southeast of Wellsville. Buffalo is located 88 miles to the northwest and Elmira 60 miles to the east. Whitesville is also within easy driving distance to Alfred University, SUNY at Alfred, St. Bonaventure University and Houghton College.

The School and Community share a culture of support with life centering around the varied activities happening at school on a daily basis. The one floor K-12 building is in excellent condition with three additions completed in 1999, 2003 and 2009, and a renovated STEAM Suite in the summer of 2019.

WCS has a Strong Academic Tradition which focuses on individual students and their needs for the 21st Century. We have an ideal learning environment with small class sizes, positive community support, individual attention, and encouragement, which help all students and staff members strive for excellence. The staff of teachers and other officials works closely with parents and the entire community to provide the best education possible for students.

Staff and Teachers at Whitesville Central School believe that all students are capable of learning, regardless of their abilities, race, color, national origin or creed, and works to make sure this responsibility is met. Other goals and philosophies include teaching students to empower themselves to be able to handle challenges in their lives and make them valuable citizens in a democratic society. Interscholastic athletics and the arts have also played a role in the success of our students as we strive to empower our learners to lead, innovate, and communicate!
